Jerky Boys Prank Call

Then and now. On this turn-back-the-clock day in December, when Johnny Brennan is ready to resume his pranking tenure, things are somewhat different.

Brennan is more recently known for his voice work in the Emmy-nominated animated series Family Guy. He carries out Mort Goldman’s voices (whose voice and mannerisms are practically identical to his Jerky Boys character Sol Rosenberg) and Horace, the Drunken Clam’s bartender.

(The lights are now all on, for one, as you know, he liked to perform in the dark.) He’s aged into a clean-shaven leather-jacket-wearing, 50-year-old papa. Gone are the days of the mullet-and-goatee-sporting rustled scamp. He is now driving an SUV with kids. Oh, and he owns a little pet dog called Taco. He is the guy that is poised and pictured holding an iPhone. And It’s this guy who wants back in the game.

The Jerky Boys were the New York American comedy act from Queens (which have some rough areas), New York, whose routine includes Jerky Boys prank calls and other associated skits. The Kings of prankster crank calls from Queens, New York, U.S.A. Originally called “The Subjectivist League, “the Jerky Boys formally formed in 1989.

The Jerky Boys went platinum and were chosen for a Grammy.  Best comedic album. The Jerky Boys’ released albums, and sold more than 3 million copies. Those are confirmed numbers.  Who knows how many bootlegged Jerky boys copies were made? It could be in the millions.

After hinting and teasing the Jerky Boys’ return in 2019, the notorious pranksters and phone tease artists have officially announced their first album in over 20 years.

Johnny Brennon and Kamal Ahmed are a comic partnership. One would rig up the phone call and claim to have become a victim of savage dental negligence and claim to have been molested or something like that.

Sol Rosenberg, a sheepishly fragile Jewish whiner that many actors portray with comparisons to Woody Allen caricature with anal-warts obsessions not Woody Allen but Sol Rosenberg. Jack Tors, a sex-related deviant and self-glorified showman, does runway shows and performances that shock audiences.  He claims to beat up on monkeys with short mini skirts odiously, and other off the chart claims including pulling stuff out of his ass.

Another famous character of Brennon’s was the recognizable Frank Rizzo acts. Frank Rizzo – a vulgar, nasty, foul-mouthed blue-collar Italian – American New Yorker with strange problems and requests. (voiced by Johnny Brennan.  The blue-collar man-about-town with know-how in all kinds of jobs related to the construction industry. What about the  outrages “assneck,” “liver lips,” and also “sizzle chest.”

Brennan created most of the phone calls, and over time (years), he has created a collection of personalities to let loose on innocent phone recipient victims.

The phone rings. Brennan takes a sip of water. It’s a restaurant hostess on the other end. “Hi, how are you,” whines Brennan, with an impacting shy wimpish voice. “This is Sol Rosenberg.”

In a few seconds, Brennan, who characterizes Rosenberg, has the person on the other end of a dining establishment. He claims that they had taken a picture of him and misplaced this memorial image that doesn’t exist. the hostess on the other end of the phone explains, “With all the renovating that  the restaurant had this summer,” she says, “it may have been saved on the phone and subsequently deleted.” Oh boy, the old master Brennan surely doesn’t appear rusty.

” I was there when you were renovating,” moaned Sol.  I “fell through the floorboards!” Baffled and incontestable, the hostess abruptly ends the call, Brennan looks relieved. “I believe we got something there,” he grins, reverting to his natural queen’s new york accent expression. “Let’s make another call.”
